Berachain is a high-performance, EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible, Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK. We're a young, world-class team of experts in computer science, type theory, economic game theory, risk management, and enterprise development. Our team combines experience from companies like Apple, Coinbase, IBM, and Y-Combinator with crypto-native expertise from impactful DeFi protocols. We are passionate about Web3, Toybox, and building infrastructure for decentralized finance. Our core engineering team is based in Toronto.
At Berachain, you'll join a team of experienced founders, engineers, and researchers dedicated to designing sustainable economic and blockchain systems. We are well-funded by leading digital asset investors, hedge funds, centralized exchange venture arms, and strategic angels.
We seek self-starters and mission-driven individuals to help shape the future of decentralized finance. The ideal candidate takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and adapts quickly to changing needs.
The eco lead will work closely with Smokey to bring experienced teams and novel primitives into the Berachain ecosystem. This involves engaging with early-stage groups, identifying collaboration opportunities, and driving TVL and user growth. The role prefers in-person presence at our Toronto office, with exceptions in extreme cases. Candidates with experience in business development and partnerships at major L1s or leading DeFi protocols are preferred.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in business development, sales, finance, or venture capital, preferably in blockchain or fintech, with a focus on DeFi
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, particularly EVM and Cosmos ecosystems
- Knowledge of current DeFi, NFT-fi, GameFi landscapes
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Experience structuring complex multi-stakeholder partnerships
- Experience building and scaling sales/BD/partnership teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize features based on market needs
- Experience in both TradFi/Web2 and crypto-native business development initiatives is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the onboarding point for teams exploring the Berachain ecosystem
- Identify synergies between Berachain’s infrastructure and potential DApps
- Support the development of "super DApps" that could define the ecosystem
- Develop partnerships with native DApps and builders
- Leverage networks and the Berachain brand to attract top builders and deploy blue-chip DApps
- Collaborate with engineering to define and prioritize product features
- Maintain a deep understanding of the blockchain market and competitors
- Work cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches and improvements
- Engage with users, protocols, and stakeholders for feedback and insights
