Senior Manager, Indigenous External Financial Advisory Services

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Indigenous community and enterprise clients to assess their accounting systems and lead tailored capacity‑building initiatives
• Evaluate overall client accounting practices and create a strategic plan for growth, capacity development, and financial literacy
• Provide strategic recommendations to client leadership and implement best practices
• Advise on complex matters such as external financing, system implementations, and chart of accounts setup
• Deliver hands‑on training in accounting functions including assisting the client with audit preparation
• Review/prepare finance policies and process maps, prepare recommended amendments as required
• Provide training and oversight into general matters such as payroll, GST/PST, and T4 filing
• Facilitate quarterly financial reporting and project updates to Management and Leadership
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills and Experience

• A degree or diploma in Business Administration or Accounting
• CPA, CAFM, or equivalent designation
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and organizational finance
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Experience working with Indigenous communities is a strong asset
