Who we are:

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) plays a pivotal role in advancing educational and operational excellence in New Brunswick through strategic digital transformation in both the anglophone and francophone educational sectors. Within the IT Strategy & Business Solutions (ITSBS) Branch, the IT Service Analyst provides operational IT support and technical expertise in the K-12 education environment, working at the intersection of EECD, Service New Brunswick (SNB), school districts, internal technical teams, and vendors.

This role helps maintain reliable, secure, and responsive digital infrastructure, systems, and tools that support educators, students, school staff, and departmental teams. The position contributes to service continuity, incident resolution, technical planning, and the successful implementation of education technology initiatives.

What you will do:

As an IT Service Analyst, you will coordinate operational support, investigate and resolve technical issues, and contribute technical expertise to K-12 projects and strategic initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Provide day-to-day operational support for K-12 IT systems and services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application, access, and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate system maintenance, upgrades, and security updates with minimal disruption.
• Document issues, resolutions, and trends to improve service reliability and knowledge sharing.
• Analyze incidents, determine root causes, and support timely resolution of service disruptions.
• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, districts, and SNB to implement solutions.
• Contribute technical expertise to education technology projects and modernization initiatives.
• Support planning, testing, implementation, training, and adoption of new technology solutions.

Who you are:

You are analytical, service-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a complex K-12 technology environment. You can translate technical concepts into clear and accessible language, apply structured troubleshooting methods, protect sensitive information, and manage competing priorities when digital services affect schools, educators, students, and departmental operations.

Need to Have:

• Two-year Information Technology diploma and 2-4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Knowledge of access management, network, server, and operational support environments.
• Ability to investigate incidents, analyze issues, and identify root causes.
• Experience testing solutions, documenting resolutions, and coordinating with technical teams and vendors.
• Experience supporting system upgrades, security updates, technology projects, and service improvements.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of information security, privacy, access controls, and data management practices.

Nice to Have:

• Experience supporting K-12, school district, or public-sector technology environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud services, identity management, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Experience working with school districts, SNB, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, system reliability, student information systems, and education technology services.

Salary:

Pay Band 3: $53,742 - $75,114 annually

Work environment:

• Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton or Remote in New Brunswick
• Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15 - 4:30
