Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and performance of Yorktons Class III Water Treatment and Class IV Wastewater Treatment systems and associated appurtanences in accordance with regulatory requirements, permits, approved procedures, and industry best practices.Monitor and optimize treatment processes, including process control adjustments, SCADA trend review, alarm response, equipment performance monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.
Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including CMMS work orders, equipment inspections, return-to-service checks, documentation, and follow-up on recurring equipment issues.
Supervise, mentor, train, and support operators in plant operations, safety procedures, equipment care, process optimization, and operational best practices.
Manage sampling routines, analytical laboratory activities, calibration records, chains of custody, process quality control, and operational data used to support compliance and decision-making.
Maintain accurate plant records and provide reliable operational data and technical input for regulatory and internal reporting.
Support compliance with provincial and federal requirements by ensuring treatment processes, records, sampling, maintenance activities, and corrective actions are completed in accordance with approved procedures and permits. Required Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations, or a closely related field, with demonstrated experience leading staff in an operational environment.
Valid Saskatchewan Operator Certification Board Class III Water Treatment Certificate and Class IV Wastewater Treatment Certificate, or the ability to obtain and maintain the required certifications within a timeframe acceptable to the City. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week).
