Controller

You will be responsible for all internal accounting and office management functions of the firm. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Posting daily journal entries, maintenance of the general ledger, and monthly bank reconciliations;
-Reconciliation of all subledgers such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Sales Tax;
-Performance of all Trust Accounting transactions and maintenance of the Client Trust Listing;
-Preparation and completion of external financial reporting;
-Compilation and preparation of various management accounting reports;
-Administration of the time entry and billing systems;
-Preparation and filing of GST and PST returns;
-Administration of payroll for both staff and principals and related duties;
-Consistent review of office and accounting procedures to ensure maximum inter-office efficiency and compliance with The Law Society of Saskatchewan rules;
-Providing assistance to law firm clients in a professional and efficient manner;
-Upholding a high standard of confidentiality in respect to both external clients and internal staff members;
-Liaising with vendors and firm principals to ensure all office needs are met;
-Preparation and compilation of the year-end draft financial statements and supporting documentation in order to facilitate filings by our external accountants.

Ideally, we are seeking an individual who has high attention to detail and is able to effectively prioritize and organize tasks.  The position requires excellent language and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, good file management skills and flexibility in responding to changing work demands.
