Position Scope:

As an Industrial Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Operating within a highly automated factory, you will play a vital role in minimizing operational downtime, executing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules, and driving a safe, efficient working environment.

Estimated Start Date: Immediate Need

Schedule: Shift Work / Continental Rotation 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work safely and independently while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Diagnose failures and perform moderate to complex mechanical repairs across a highly automated facility.
• Conduct routine Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) inspections and repairs to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
• Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to coordinate timely repairs and minimize production delays.
• Ensure all mechanical machinery operates continuously, safely, and at peak productivity.  

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• On-site in a manufacturing environment with exposure to plant operations.
• Exposure to external climate conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods is required. 

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Red Seal Journeyman Industrial Mechanic / Millwright status is considered a strong asset. (Applicants with credentials or experience in other related trades are welcomed).
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or processing environment is considered a strong asset.
• Hands-on experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication is preferred.

Desired Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated capability to repair and maintain automated mechanical and computer-controlled systems.
• Experience testing, operating, and maintaining robotic equipment and automated packaging lines.
• Solid technical understanding of automated production processes controlled via PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Knowledgeable and proficient in using meters to safely diagnose electrical circuits.
