Manager, Financial Reporting

About Our Client
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our growing finance team for a 6-month contract and play a key role in the company’s financial reporting, compliance, and month-end close processes. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this individual will be responsible for supporting public company reporting requirements under IFRS, strengthening internal controls, driving process improvements, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive, systems-oriented mindset and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

About the Opportunity

• Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review IFRS-compliant financial statements, supporting schedules, and disclosure requirements.
• Assist with quarterly and annual public company reporting, including MD&A, financial statement note disclosures, and regulatory filings.
• Research and interpret new accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation supporting accounting positions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with year-end audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting procedures.
• Perform account reconciliations and review complex accounting transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting efficiency, and enhance data integrity.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic finance initiatives and business decision-making.
• Participate in system enhancements, implementations, and finance transformation projects.

About You
Must-Have Requirements:

• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA completion.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong experience with public company financial reporting under IFRS.
• Thorough understanding of IFRS accounting standards and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Systems savvy with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new technologies and financial systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Background with a Big Four accounting firm.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or finance transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to AI, automation tools, and process optimization technologies.
• Experience working within a publicly traded or high-growth organization.
• Familiarity with internal controls, SOX compliance, or governance frameworks.
