Shape the future of nuclear waste management with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) as a Regulatory Permitting Officer in Toronto. Leverage your project management skills to coordinate and secure environmental permits efficiently. The NWMO is looking for a proactive Regulatory Permitting Officer for a temporary role in Toronto.
Reporting to the Manager of Regulatory Studies, you will lead and manage technical studies required for environmental assessments and nuclear licensing. This position demands expertise in project coordination and distinct regulatory processes and aims to develop sustainable solutions for nuclear waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and issue requests for proposals to contractors
- Coordinate regulatory studies supporting environmental assessments
- Provide technical guidance on regulatory requirements
- Maintain project schedules and manage regulatory commitments
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes and standards
Requirements
- 4‑year degree in environmental science or related field
- 8-10 years of project management experience
- 5+ years in environmental permitting in Canada
- Knowledge of provincial regulations and assessment processes
- Solid analytical and communication skills
