Protrans Personnel Services is currently hiring an Administrative Clerk for our transportation client in Cambridge, Ontario . This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in administration, dispatching, logistics coordination, or data entry who are seeking stable employment with growth potential.
Pay Rate
- $19.75 per hour
- Weekly pay
Shift Options
- Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
- Part-Time: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Location
- Cambridge, ON
- Reliable transportation required (limited public transit availability for evening shifts)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct driver check-ins and check-outs
- Perform dispatching and driver manifesting
- Enter pickup requests and appointment details from emails
- Scan, image, and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Proof of Delivery (PODs)
- Investigate and locate missing shipping documents
- Respond to incoming phone calls and emails
- Support operational areas including:
- Courier operations
- OS&D (Over, Short and Damaged freight)
- Appointment scheduling
- Prepare and maintain daily reports
- Assist with morning driver manifesting processes
- Cross-train in additional administrative functions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in administration, dispatch, logistics, or customer service
- Strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Comfortable handling client communication via phone and email
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems
- Must pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transportation or logistics environments
- Familiarity with BOLs, PODs, and dispatch systems
- Background in trucking, warehousing, or freight operations
