Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people and community to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Mine Technician to support an underground mining operation near Kamloops, BC.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mining professional looking to build their technical expertise in an active underground mining environment. Working alongside Mine Engineers, Surveyors, Geologists, and Operations personnel, you will gain hands-on experience in mine planning, surveying, ventilation, and underground operations while supporting the safe and efficient performance of the mine.

This is a permanent position with our client, based near Kamloops, BC. Relocation is required for candidates who are not local, and relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Mine Engineering and Technical Services teams in daily underground mining activities.
• Assist with underground surveying, field measurements, and operational data collection.
• Support mine planning and development activities by maintaining accurate mine designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Monitor and track underground development progress, comparing actual conditions against mine plans.
• Assist with ventilation monitoring, underground inspections, and technical field assessments.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain operational data to support engineering decisions and production improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, production updates, and documentation for mine planning and operational teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Geology, Survey, Ventilation, and Mine Operations to support safe and efficient mining activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, and safety performance.

Salary: $97,125–$112,875 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates moving to the Kamloops area.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering Technology, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline.

• Previous experience in underground mining, mine technical services, or a related mining environment is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of underground mining operations, mine planning, surveying, or ventilation principles.
• Experience with mining software such as Deswik, AutoCAD, or similar technical applications is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to collect, interpret, and maintain accurate technical data.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness and ability to work underground and participate in field-based activities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
