Administrative Assistant - Solid Waste Facility

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability and Solid Waste Management, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing a full range of routine administrative and clerical duties, receives and records all tipping fees for the Solid Waste Facility, performs some public relations duties and does data entry into an operations maintenance program. The position involves working weekends as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A certificate in an administrative field or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years' related experience in administrative positions is required. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is also a requirement.

The incumbent must be proficient in MS Office suite, as well as capable and willing to learn different software for data entry. The incumbent must have the ability to convey messages both verbally and in writing and demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs.

 

SALARY:

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $75,045.53 per annum, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including both monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
