Senior Software Engineer, Guest Acquisition

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Guest Acquisition based in the Canada.

This is a senior engineering role focused on building AI-powered systems that drive customer acquisition for independent restaurants and other local businesses. You’ll own the technical strategy behind large-scale SEO, AEO, and GEO capabilities that turn local demand into measurable business growth. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, experimentation, and operational excellence. You’ll translate ambiguous growth opportunities into scalable systems, clear metrics, and high-impact initiatives. You’ll work closely with Product, Data, and Design in a remote-first environment where engineers have significant ownership and influence. You’ll also mentor teammates and help establish engineering practices that support rapid, sustainable growth.

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for SEO, AEO, and GEO acquisition systems at scale, translating business and growth objectives into roadmaps, metrics, and durable technical solutions.
• Lead major initiatives from technical design through implementation, launch, and operational readiness, including ingestion sources, indexing and serving improvements, and automated content-generation workflows.
• Build and improve reliable pipelines and services, establishing strong quality controls, observability, dashboards, alerting, and incident-ready runbooks.
• Drive disciplined experimentation and measurement in partnership with Product, Data, and other teams to evaluate impact, identify regressions, and continuously improve acquisition performance.
• Analyze performance across rankings, traffic, conversion, and other growth metrics to guide technical and product decisions.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, establish engineering standards, and help raise the overall technical quality of the team.
• Collaborate across teams and influence technical decisions where initiatives require shared ownership and coordinated execution.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a senior software engineer with strong technical leadership and end-to-end ownership of complex systems.
• Proven ability to establish technical direction, align stakeholders, and deliver multi-quarter initiatives from initial design through launch, measurement, and iteration.
• Experience working with SEO systems at scale; familiarity with crawling, indexing, content generation, templating, structured data, internal linking, canonicalization, and internationalization is highly valuable.
• Strong understanding of data-driven experimentation, including defining success metrics, running controlled experiments, analyzing results, and troubleshooting changes in rankings, traffic, or conversion.
• Experience designing reliable production pipelines and services with robust observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational processes.
• Strong systems-thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across ingestion, storage, serving, performance, and quality controls.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with Product, Data, and Design while influencing decisions without direct authority.
• Passion for building customer-focused products, strong engineering practices, and scalable systems in a fast-moving environment.
