General Description
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle, this position is responsible for Arctic Sports/Native Youth Olympics programs delivery. This includes program planning, delivering and reporting.
Conditions: Full Time – 37.5 hours/week
Starting date: 15 th August 2026
Qualifications:
- Past AS/NYO sport background that includes being an athlete, coach, manager or an official.
- Past participation in one or more of the following: NYO, JNYO, WEIO, Northern Games (Inuvik), AS competition in AWG.
- Knowledge of AS/NYO and Inuit culture.
- NCCP coaching certifications and trainings is an asset.
- An understanding of the Yukon Sport System, Aboriginal Sport context and knowledge of Yukon Communities.
- Knowledge of other sports is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience working with volunteers, youth and parents.
Personal Skills:
- Highly motivated team player and a “Finisher” (carry through and complete projects; multitask)
- Leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to successfully deal with day to day challenges.
Conditions of Employment
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Completed Vulnerable Sector Check
