What you will be doing:  

Facilitation and Workshop Delivery

• Facilitate workshops and training for diverse audiences, including community members, non-profit organizations, community partners, agency staff, direct service professionals, supervisors, managers, and leaders;
• Facilitate workshops in individual and group format, virtually and in person, in ways that are engaging, trauma-informed, accessible, and responsive to participant needs;
• Maintain psychologically safe and supportive learning environments, monitoring group dynamics, and applying trauma-informed de-escalation strategies as needed;  

Business Development & Stakeholder Relations

• Support business development activities that promote The Family Centre and expand reach and revenue;
• Build and maintain relationships and business opportunities with non-profit organizations and community partners in the human services sector as well as in the corporate sector;
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, service users, community members, and The Family Centre teams;

Workshop Development & Continuous Improvement

• Research, design, and develop interactive training curricula, digital presentations, and participant workbooks;
• Ensure workshops reflect current research, trauma-informed principles, accessibility, inclusion, and The Family Centre’s values;

Being an Ambassador of The Family Centre

• Represent The Family Centre’s values, culture, and expertise through professional and values aligned interactions;
• Promote the agency’s capabilities, programs and services on professional networks, at conferences, or during networking events; and
• Articulate the agency’s core services, past success stories, and strategic vision clearly.

What you will bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Adult Learning, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered;
• Minimum five years of experience in adult learning, group facilitation, and workshop delivery to a variety of audiences;
• Strong understanding and application of adult education principles;
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, inclusive facilitation, group learning, and working with diverse populations; and
• Flexibility: A flexible schedule is required, including some evening and weekend work with potential for travel.  

Background Check Process & Requirements:  

• Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, renewed every three years;
• Satisfactory Alberta Child Intervention Record Check, renewed every three years;
• Current suicide intervention certification, such as ASIST or an agency-approved equivalent (Our Child Are Sacred);
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED;
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for regular work use; and
• Registration with the applicable professional regulatory body where eligible for profession.

• Starting salary range of $64,284 to $70,659 (commensurate with education and experience)
• 36.5 hour work week
