Project Coordinator, Property Remediation & Restoration

Our Port Hope location is looking for a Project Coordinator, Property Remediation & Restoration to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, government partners, and community stakeholders to ensure remediation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and successfully. What you will be doing!

• Planning, organizing, leading and controlling the integration of all work areas and disciplines within the project effectively.
• Implementing project management tools, methods, and best practices to plan and manage projects in a way that aligns with stakeholders' expectations and meets business needs.
• Identifying project risks and barriers and developing mitigation strategies.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive , work environment.
• Ensuring all team members use applicable safety equipment and adhere to safe work policies/practices, radiation protection policies/practices and any other CNL safety requirements as mandated by the organization.
• Frequently collaborating with the Communications & Stakeholder Relations team, providing and receiving input, and participating in public relations events as needed.
• Balancing and setting project priorities and dividing responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

• Education
• A degree or diploma from a college/university relevant to project management, engineering, environmental science or equivalent OR a minimum of 8 years of related experience with no formal post-secondary education.
• Experience
• Experience leading large projects from definition and budgeting through design to construction.
• Experience supervising contractors, consultant engineers, and vendors in field work and construction oversight.
• Experience with project management software, tools, and practices used to plan, execute and control projects is an asset.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting for an executive audience.
• Excellent team-building and consensus-reaching skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the 9 project management areas (Scope, Cost, Time, QA, Communications, Human Resources, Risk, Procurement and Integration)
• Security Clearance Eligibility Required
• Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

The CNL Historic Waste Program Management Office and the Port Hope Area Initiative projects are situated on the traditional lands of the Williams Treaties First Nations, specifically the Gunshot Treaty negotiated between the Crown and Mississauga Nation during the 1780s and represented today by the Williams Treaties First Nations. The Mississauga Nations are also signatories to various 18th and 19th century treaties that covered lands in different parts of south-central Ontario. In 1923, the Mississauga First Nations and the Chippewa First Nations consisting of Rama, Beausoleil and Georgina Island signed the Williams Treaties and together, over 90 years later in June 2018, joined to ensure that their rights and the relationship with these lands are respected through a renewed agreement with Canada and the province of Ontario. The area in which we are situated is also home to Indigenous Peoples from across the region and Canada.
