To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you will be doing As a Senior Credit Analyst you will be integral to CIBC Asset Management fixed income security selection and member of the Fixed Income Team reporting to the Head of Credit Research. You will contribute to the credit research of investment grade credit and high yield. You will provide the Fixed Income Portfolio Managers in-depth advice and consultation of a tactical and strategic nature regarding sector credit exposures and security selection. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the investment thesis. Recommendations emanating from research will drive investment decisions and contribute to achieving portfolio target value added objective from security selection through ongoing dialogue with our Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, and presentations to the Credit Committee. • Investment Recommendations - Develop clear actionable investment recommendations based on underlying credit fundamentals and relative value. Differentiate and monitor key drivers for outperformance of industries and companies. Clearly articulate recommendations and views on a timely basis based on rigorous analysis. Develop and maintain financial models and forward-looking estimates for the companies under coverage.
• Collaboration - Engage in an open and ongoing dialogue with Portfolio Managers, and other Credit Team members to ensure that the best ideas are incorporated into the respective portfolios. Work collaboratively with equity analysts in the Equity team with respect to company and industry analysis.
• Relationship Building - Develop strong working relationships within CIBC GAM to collaborate and share knowledge, develop industry views, and to promote and utilize a common research framework.
• Communication - Present and communicate both internally, to the team and externally, as appropriate, with prospects and clients of the firm.

Who you are

• You demonstrate experience with +3 years fixed income research and analysis experience, and long/short trade ideas. Strong understanding and experience with debt/fixed income analysis, capital markets knowledge. You have quantitative skills relating to signal and model development and familiarity with macro and micro economic data environments. You can perform under pressure in a trading environment.
• You have demonstrated experience in credit markets analyzing a variety of industries and with an established professional network across global credit markets.
• You have an undergraduate, graduate and/or post-graduate degrees in management, finance, accounting, or a STEM discipline. Strong financial and accounting skills. Completion of CFA preferred.
• You are highly driven, intellectually curious, and collaborative within a team culture while also able to work independently and have effective time management skills.
