Expected Start Date: October 05, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Yorkton Regional Health Centre City/Town: Yorkton Department: Youth Initiatives-Corrections Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: October 30, 2026 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Number of Hours per Rotation: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Standard Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Diploma $29.584 to $36.176 Travel Required: No Job : As a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain, and enhance recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counselling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals. Human Resources Exemption: No Education- Mental Health & Addictions Counselling Diploma or a related Health Sciences field
Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrates knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on family units
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
- Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures.
- Knowledge Transtheoretical Model of Change
- Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
- Ability to accurately assess addiction(s) and make appropriate recovery plans.
- Ability to deliver workshops and lecture material to clients and community
- Ability to organize work load demands
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
