Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) Expert to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level reporting and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP BO tools, data modeling, and report optimization, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
SAP BO Development & Administration
• Design, develop, and deploy SAP BusinessObjects reports using Web Intelligence (WebI), Crystal Reports, and SAP Lumira / BI Launchpad
• Create universes using Information Design Tool (IDT) or Universe Design Tool (UDT)
• Manage BO platform including user access, security, scheduling, and publishing
Data Modeling & Integration
• Design and maintain data models, universes, and semantic layers
• Integrate data from SAP and non-SAP sources such as HANA, BW, SQL Server, Oracle
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization
Performance Optimization
• Optimize query performance and report execution times
• Troubleshoot slow-running reports and database issues
• Implement best practices for indexing, aggregation, and caching
Governance & Security
• Implement role-based security and access control
• Ensure compliance with data governance and enterprise standards
• Maintain audit logs and system documentation
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Gather and analyze business reporting requirements
• Translate business needs into technical specifications
• Provide insights and recommendations through dashboards and reports
Support & Maintenance
• Provide production support and resolve incidents
• Monitor system health and performance
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and migrations
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong expertise in SAP BusinessObjects (BO 4.x)
• Experience with Web Intelligence (WebI) and Crystal Reports
• Universe design using IDT/UDT
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, SAP BW, or other databases
• Advanced SQL skills (queries, joins, stored procedures)
• Knowledge of BI Launchpad and CMC (Central Management Console)
• Experience with scheduling and publication features
• Data warehousing concepts and ETL understanding
• Performance tuning and query optimization experience
• Experience in enterprise BI environments
• SAP BO certification preferred
Experience Requirements
• 5–10+ years of SAP BO development and administration experience
• Experience in BFSI, Healthcare, or Manufacturing domain preferred
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• SAP BO certification preferred
$70 per hour
