Surge is currently accepting applications for the position of Accounts Payable Accountant.
Responsibilities include
- Reviewing, coding, and processing accounts payable invoices within OpenInvoice in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy
- Liaise with field personnel to manage invoice flow in OpenInvoice and process invoices, assist with coding requirements and approval limits/authority levels
- Assist with vendor queries; verify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies within vendor accounts, which may result in reconciling and recording journal entries in Qbyte FM
- Record manual accounts payable & receivable entries in Qbyte FM
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Continuously review processes and implement improvements to ensure efficiency in all areas
- Ad-Hoc reporting and any assigned special projects
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of accounts payable experience, ideally within a Canadian oil and gas company
- Practical experience processing oil and gas invoices and working with field, operations, and accounting personnel
- Experience with Qbyte, OpenInvoice and intermediate skill level with Excel
- Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or certificate in Business or Accounting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
- Highly motivated to handle a busy and varied workload
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for this role
- Exceptional relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
