Your role and responsibilities

The Senior Business Controller serves as the key financial partner to the EVP International Sales and the international leadership team, acting as the financial conscience of the organization. In this high-impact, global role, they translate strategic growth ambitions into robust financial planning, provide transparent performance insights, and ensure that all commercial decisions are grounded in sound financial analysis. While not directly responsible for revenue, the Controller plays a decisive role in shaping how it is built and safeguarded, supporting regional sales and transformation initiatives with rigorous evaluation of investments, business cases, and potential acquisitions. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role maintains strong alignment with ABB's global finance standards and works closely with the Division CFO to ensure compliance and consistency across the international business.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Strategic Finance Partnering: Acts as the primary financial advisor to international leadership, shaping commercial strategy, investment decisions, market entry, pricing, and M&A evaluations through robust financial analysis and modelling.
• Planning & Forecasting Leadership: Owns budgeting, multi-year planning, and forecasting cycles, translating growth strategy into clear financial targets, scenarios, and capital allocation decisions aligned with divisional and group objectives.
• Performance Insight & Reporting: Establishes reporting frameworks, monitors KPIs, analyzes variances, and delivers actionable insights on profitability, market dynamics, and business performance to guide decision-making and corrective actions.
• Governance, Controls & Cross-functional Collaboration: Ensures compliance with internal controls, finance standards, and audit requirements, while partnering across sales, operations, and finance teams to drive performance, support transformation initiatives, and build financial capability across the organization.

Qualifications for the role

• 8-10 years of progressive experience in business controlling, FP&A, or finance business partnering, ideally in an industrial or technology multinational.
• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics; CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience supporting international or cross-border business operations, with exposure to multi-currency environments, transfer pricing, and diverse regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted sparring partner to senior commercial leaders - proactive, commercially minded, and confident in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Strong financial modelling skills and ability to translate complex data into clear, executive-ready business insight.
• Experience evaluating infrastructure investment business cases and/or M&A financial screening in an industrial B2B context.
• Excellent command of SAP and advanced Excel; familiarity with BI and analytics platforms is an advantage.
• Experience in matrix organizations with complex global reporting structures is a plus.
• Familiarity with NEMA or industrial electromechanical markets is an advantage.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) or other languages given the international scope.

Votre rôle et vos responsabilités :

Le contrôleur principal des affaires agit à titre de partenaire financier clé du vice-président exécutif des ventes internationales et de l'équipe de direction internationale, en jouant le rôle de conscience financière de l'organisation. Dans ce rôle mondial à fort impact, il traduit les ambitions de croissance stratégique en planification financière rigoureuse, fournit des perspectives transparentes sur la performance et veille à ce que toutes les décisions commerciales reposent sur des analyses financières solides. Bien qu'il ne soit pas directement responsable des revenus, le contrôleur joue un rôle déterminant dans la façon dont ceux-ci sont générés et protégés, en soutenant les initiatives de ventes régionales et de transformation grâce à une évaluation rigoureuse des investissements, des analyses de cas d'affaires et des acquisitions potentielles. Le rôle est exercé avec un haut degré d'autonomie, tout en maintenant un alignement étroit avec les normes financières mondiales d'ABB et en collaborant étroitement avec le directeur financier divisionnaire afin d'assurer la conformité et la cohérence à l'échelle des activités internationales.

Vous serez principalement responsable de :

• Partenariat stratégique en finance : agir à titre de principal conseiller financier auprès de la direction internationale et contribuer à la stratégie commerciale, aux décisions d'investissement, à l'entrée sur les marchés, à la tarification et aux évaluations de fusions et acquisitions à l'aide d'analyses et de modélisations financières robustes.
• Planification et prévisions : diriger les cycles de budgétisation, de planification pluriannuelle et de prévision, en traduisant la stratégie de croissance en cibles financières claires, en scénarios et en décisions d'allocation du capital alignées sur les objectifs de la division et du groupe.
• Analyse de performance et rapports : établir des cadres de rapports, suivre les indicateurs clés de performance (KPI), analyser les écarts et fournir des analyses exploitables sur la rentabilité, la dynamique des marchés et la performance des affaires afin d'orienter la prise de décision.
• Gouvernance et conformité : assurer le respect des contrôles internes, des normes financières et des exigences d'audit, tout en collaborant avec les équipes des ventes, des opérations et des finances afin d'améliorer la performance et de soutenir les initiatives de transformation.

Qualifications pour le poste :

• Minimum de 10 ans d'expérience progressive en contrôle de gestion, FP&A ou en partenariat d'affaires financier, idéalement dans une multinationale industrielle ou technologique.
• Maîtrise en finance, comptabilité, administration des affaires ou économie; titre CPA, CMA ou équivalent constitue un atout.
• Expérience démontrée dans un environnement international avec exposition aux devises multiples et aux cadres réglementaires variés.
• Capacité à agir comme partenaire stratégique crédible auprès de la haute direction.
• Solides compétences en modélisation financière et capacité à traduire des données complexes en analyses claires.
• Expérience en évaluation de projets d'investissement ou de transactions de fusion et acquisition.
• Excellente maîtrise de SAP et d'Excel avancé; expérience avec des outils analytiques un atout.
• Expérience dans des organisations matricielles complexes.
• Connaissance des marchés industriels ou électromécaniques (un atout).
• Maîtrise de l'anglais; d'autres langues constituent un atout étant donné la portée internationale.
