Job Description
- Lead, support, and develop an accounting team while overseeing journal entry review, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and the full monthly close cycle.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and US GAAP requirements.
- Improve and streamline accounting processes, contribute to system enhancements, and optimize workflow efficiency.
- Manage and mentor staff, promoting skill development and strong performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide support for internal and external audits.
- Maintain productive relationships with external partners, including financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 5 years of combined experience in public accounting and/or industry, ideally within medium or large organizations.
- Team management experience is mandatory, with proven ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting staff.
- CPA designation is a strong asset.
- Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system is a strong asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and financial reporting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
