IBM Mainframe Developer – COBOL, DB2 & IMS
Required Skills
IBM Mainframe Technical Skills
• Strong experience with IBM Mainframe technologies, including:
• JCL
• COBOL
• SQL
• DB2
• Endevor
• File-AID
• CA-7
• Experience with mainframe development, analysis, testing, and deployment activities.
Tools & Platforms
• Experience with:
• INSYNC
• Jira
• Confluence
• ServiceNow
• AI awareness and experience using AI-assisted development tools, including:
• GitHub Copilot
• VS Code
Design & Development Responsibilities
• Independently analyze IMS segments and create detailed technical designs.
• Lead and mentor junior developers.
• Participate in end-to-end field mapping activities.
• Develop, unit test, and deploy mainframe applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex mainframe application issues.
DB2 Expertise
• Strong understanding of DB2 objects and processing.
• Ability to independently analyze DB2 objects and support application development activities.
Soft Skills
• Ability to work independently within a team environment with limited mainframe expertise.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
• Knowledge of:
• Kafka
• RESTful APIs
