Position Overview
Senior Electrical Engineer within WSP’s Property & Buildings M&E Team, responsible for designing and delivering complex electrical systems for mission‑critical and high‑performance buildings across the GTA. Based in Thornhill or Downtown Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Lead design/development of power distribution, lighting, grounding, earthing, and lightning protection systems for new and retrofit projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and offshore design teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years consulting experience in building systems design.
- Professional Engineer (PEO) licensed in Ontario.
- Minimum 5 years experience delivering Data Centre or mission‑critical projects in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in Revit, ETAP, AGI32 or Dialux lighting design software.
- Proven ability to lead electrical design teams on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams.
Compensation
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 – $151,800
- MB & ON: $104,500 – $143,900
- NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 – $137,400
