Manitoba Innovation and New Technology is seeking qualified candidates for the role of SAP Basis and Solution Lead.

Duties

Reporting to the Information Technology Services Manager, the SAP Basis and Solution Lead provides senior technical leadership for the SAP technical landscape, overseeing day-to-day BASIS operations to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability. The position coordinates and leads SAP technical activities such as patches, upgrades, system refreshes, and environment maintenance, while proactively monitoring and resolving technical risks impacting SAP operations. In addition, the role is responsible for designing and maintaining the SAP system landscape architecture, including defining system sizing, capacity, and technical standards, and providing solution-level guidance to ensure SAP environments are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture and operational requirements. The SAP Basis and Solution Lead ensures that all solutions meet business needs and comply with government ICT standards, supporting Manitoba Innovation and New Technology in achieving its digital transformation objectives.

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Significant experience providing SAP BASIS technical leadership in complex SAP environments, including SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC, with responsibility for system administration, maintenance, and operational support
• Experience planning and executing SAP technical activities such as patches, upgrades, system refreshes, and transports, while adhering to change control processes and operational standards
• Experience supporting SAP projects by providing technical leadership, coordinating BASIS¿related activities, managing dependencies, and contributing to successful SAP implementations and upgrades
• Experience designing and maintaining SAP technical landscape architecture, including defining system sizing, capacity requirements, and technical standards
• Experience monitoring SAP system performance and diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability
• Experience in achieving quality results, utilizing process improvement techniques to manage tasks and streamline workflows
• Experience in fostering creativity and innovation, encouraging new ideas in others and facilitating their implementation
• Adaptability and experience in change management, willingly cooperating with change even in uncertain situations
• Interpersonal skills including experience in building respectful work relationships and modeling organizational values, as well as being an active team player who contributes to team effectiveness
• Advanced problem-solving skills, applying rigorous methods to identify problems and narrowing down probable causes
• Verbal communication skills
