Fox & Johns Pub & Restaurant is an independent, fast-paced restaurant that takes pride in creating great experiences for our guests and investing in our people. We’re looking for an experienced, personable, and professional Bartender to join our team at our flagship Bloor & Runnymede location.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, knowledgeable about food and beverages, and genuinely enjoys connecting with guests. You are organized, attentive to detail, and able to stay composed and efficient during busy services.

Requirements:

• 3–4+ years of bartending experience in a comparable restaurant or high-volume environment
• Valid Smart Serve certification — required
• Strong knowledge of food, beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails
• Flexible availability and the ability to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week
• Weekend availability is required
• Availability to work throughout our restaurant's operating hours
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of urgency with excellent attention to detail
• Professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Comfortable using computers and restaurant POS/software systems
• Reliable transportation to and from work

What You’ll Be Doing

• Creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest
• Guiding guests through our food and beverage menus, answering questions, and accommodating special requests
• Maintaining thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, beers, wines, and cocktails
• Preparing and serving beverages accurately, efficiently, and consistently
• Practicing responsible alcohol service and exercising sound judgment in accordance with Ontario liquor laws
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout service
• Ensuring proper bar and dining room maintenance
• Supporting the FOH team to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Communicating effectively with Front of House, Back of House, and Management
• Helping create a positive and energetic environment for both guests and teammates
