Director, Human Resources
Our client is a privately held manufacturing organization with approximately $300 million in annual revenue and more than 800 employees globally. With operations across North America and Asia, the company has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence, operational execution, and long-standing customer relationships.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Human Resources will lead the HR function across multiple locations and serve as a trusted partner to ownership, senior leadership, and operational teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR leader who enjoys being close to the business, supporting operational leaders, and building practical people solutions that drive organizational performance.
Please not e: This role requires experience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive or similarly operational environments. Candidates must have experience supporting both salaried and hourly employee populations and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. Experience within a privately held, or owner-managed business environment is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Human Resources function across multiple manufacturing locations
- Partner with ownership and senior leadership on workforce, organizational, and people-related initiatives
- Provide leadership across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and compliance.
- Support both salaried and hourly employee populations, including unionized environments
- Strengthen employee engagement, retention, and leadership capabilities
- Build scalable HR programs, processes, and infrastructure to support future growth
- wthFoster consistency and accountability across multiple locations and operating entities
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership of an HR function or senior HR
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, automotive, distribution, logistics, or similarly operational environment
- Strong employee and labour relations experience
- Experience supporting multi-site operations.
- Demonstrated success building or enhancing HR programs, policies, and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate is a practical, operationally focused HR leader who thrives in a hands-on environment. They are comfortable rolling up their sleeves, partnering directly with leaders, and balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
Regular on-site presence in Scarborough is expected, with occasional travel to support other North American operations.
