The Opportunity

SunMETA Group is currently seeking to fill the permanent role of a Senior Marketing Writer in Calgary, Alberta, to create and refine marketing-driven written content including blogs, marketing emails, website copy, and other business writing needs. This is a hands-on, marketing-focused writing role.

You'll need to think like a marketer - writing with clear goals in mind, understanding audience psychology, adapting tone and structure based on the customer journey, and tying every piece of content to a marketing objective.

You'll also play a key role in reviewing and editing work from junior writers — providing feedback to strengthen clarity, brand voice, and marketing effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and edit blogs targeting different marketing funnel stages
• Write short-form scripts, marketing emails, website copy, and other business content
• Adapt writing one and structure based on audience needs and business goals
• Edit and refine content created by junior writers — improving structure, grammar, voice, and effectiveness.
• Ensure all content is clear, consistent, goal-driven, and on-brand.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Director to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field is required
• 3-5 years of professional marketing writing and/or editing experience
• Strong understanding of audience psychology, marketing funnels, and customer journeys
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for clarity, tone, accuracy, structure, and brand alignment
• Experience editing and giving feedback to other writers
• Highly organized, self-directed, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple writing projects independently
• Knowledge of SEO and keyword integration
• Experience writing for education, career development, or training-related audiences
• Comfortable switching between short-form and long-form content.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
