BSA/Product Owner (Enterprise Digital & AI Enablement)

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for an BSA/Product Owner to join the Enterprise Digital & AI Enablement team. This role is focused on driving digitization and AI innovation across the bank. The successful candidate will lead the creation of business requirements and BRDs, act as a liaison between business and technology teams, and ensure solutions align with strategic goals. Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Adobe, Tableau, and knowledge of generative AI and LLMs is highly valued. The role supports AI-driven initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Target Start Date : ASAP

Duration : 6 months with potential to extend

Potential for this contract to be extended or converted to FTE ? Yes to both

Remote/Hybrid : Hybrid role, Wednesday and every 3rd Friday

Office Location : Downtown Toronto, ON

Work Schedule (hours per week, start time ): 37.50 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday

Potential for OT? On approval by manager

Interview Process : 2 virtual interviews

What project will you be working on ? Will be exposed to multiple projects related to Digitization and AI Enablement within the bank.

Best vs average candidate: Worked as a PO before in a large organization, experience interacting/driving conversations with senior leaders, working with risk stakeholders, previously led creation of business requirement documents and completing signoff from partners, experience working with technology teams, experience with Jira and confluence, Visio, MS suite, Adobe/Tableau experience, knowledge of generative AI use cases, knowledge of LLM (Large language models)

Job Description

This role supports Enterprise Digital & AI Enablement through a variety of activities, including product ownership, business analysis, project coordination, relationship management, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will independently manage their workload, prepare schedules to ensure timely delivery, monitor progress, and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Product Management – Develop and present high-level business cases, analysis roadmaps, and conceptual solutions to enable strategic business unit (SBU) initiatives. Execute strategic priorities of varying complexity and identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency through digital and AI solutions.
  • Business Analysis & Project Delivery – Conduct business analysis, gather requirements, and design future-state processes. Support the delivery of projects, processes, reporting, and work packages in alignment with the bank’s enterprise delivery framework.
  • People Change Management – Act as a key strategic partner in ensuring that all initiatives; especially those with digital or AI components are people-first and adoption-ready. Build and execute thoughtful, multi-pronged change management strategies that anticipate resistance, activate leadership sponsorship, and engage team members in meaningful ways.
  • Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong professional relationships with partners across the bank. Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to plan, organize, and align work. Gather input for the development and enhancement of business processes to ensure operational alignment.
  • Reporting & Insights – Track progress and analyze data to generate actionable insights on product performance.
  • Communication – Effectively present complex ideas using various methods tailored to different audiences.

Must have skills:

  • Experience as Product Owner – 2+ years
  • Experience as BSA – 2+ years
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders (technology, risk, product, business) – 5 years
  • Experience with MS suite – 5 years

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with Visio
  • Experience with Analytics including (Adobe, Tableau, PowerBI, Databricks and Edge)
  • Knowledge of generative AI use cases
  • Knowledge on the use of LLMs
