Senior Behavior Therapist

Job Summary:

Lighthouse Therapy is a provider of pediatric behavior, recreation, academic, and psychosocial interventions in the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for a passionate and committed Senior Behavior Therapist to join our team and oversee a small team of instructor therapists, while providing 1:1 therapy in the home, school, and daycare setting for children aged 2-18 years.

Responsibilities:

• In depth understanding of ABA principles, practices, and procedures
• Superior skills implementing ABA-specific teaching strategies
• Facilitating the intake process for new clients entering services
• Conduct assessments (ABLLS, AFLS, VB-MAPP, PEAK; ESDM)
• Conduct functional behavioral assessments FBA as well as functional analysis FA - under the supervision of the clinical supervisor
• Provide parent training
• Working at the clients' homes, daycare or school
• Implement individualized ABA based skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs
• Data Collection, graphing, and session notes
• Program and material prep
• Maintain organization of client binder and all teaching materials
• Participate in team meetings, training and communicate regularly with the therapy team
• Conduct coaching and/or training of instructor therapists
• Assist with administrative and managerial tasks as needed
• Maintain a good rapport with the therapy team including clinical supervisor, client family, SLP, OT, and educational teaching team
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment during sessions and support the client and family in achieving the goals
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the client
• Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the company
• Follow procedural fidelity, implement programs as designed and seek training and consultation when needed

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

• RBT certification or BCaBA certification required
• Completed university degree or college diploma in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Early Childhood Studies, Autism, Behavioral Science, or related field required
• Minimum 3-years providing ABA services required
• Minimum 1-year supervisory or management experience required
• Experience and ability to conduct assessments independently (ABLLS, AFLS, VB-MAPP, PEAK; ESDM)
• Updated vulnerable sector check
• ABA/Autism-related Diploma/Certificate is an asset
• Masters degree completed or in progress considered an asset
• BCBA completed or in progress an asset
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Independent, self-motivated, eager to learn and accept feedback for continuous improvement
• Valid driver's license, access to reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to client homes for sessions in the Peel and Halton regions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
