We are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic specializing in farm equipment to work as part of a team and service a mixed agricultural fleet. This role will maintain and repair tractors, combines, planting and seeding equipment, harvesting equipment, and heavy trucks. The position includes regional travel between farms and frequent field service, with shop-based work during the winter months. During seeding and harvest this role will include operating farm machinery in the field.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, planting and seeding equipment, harvesting equipment, and heavy trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance across the mixed agricultural fleet.
- Operate farm machinery during Seeding, Harvest, and select other busy times of the year
- Complete welding and fabrication repairs as required.
- Order parts and coordinate materials needed for repairs.
- Provide frequent field service and travel regionally between farms.
Required Qualifications
- Clearly Speak English
- At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diesel engines.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience using diagnostic software.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective time-management skills.
- Basic understating of crop and livestock production
