Sr. Associate, Front End Developer

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend application features in Next.js, React, and TypeScript, including routing, server-side rendering, and state management.
• Develop reusable, accessible components with Shadcn/UI, Tailwind CSS, design tokens, and the existing design system.
• Integrate .NET REST APIs and design interfaces for loading, error, empty, partial-failure, retrying, and long-running process states.
• Implement Keycloak authentication using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect and render interfaces based on OpenFGA permissions.
• Build performant reporting, analytics, workflow, and data-dense interfaces over backend query results.
• Write and maintain Playwright end-to-end tests and contribute to shared component and unit test coverage.
• Meet WCAG 2.x Level AA requirements through semantic, keyboard-accessible, and screen-reader-friendly implementation.
• Prepare implementation plans, participate in code review and scrum ceremonies, and deliver small reviewable merge requests.
• Maintain frontend documentation, respond to CodeRabbit findings, support GitLab CI/CD quality, and resolve post-release defects.
• Mentor less experienced developers through code review and pairing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of web development experience delivering production applications as part of a team.
• Strong production experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, routing, rendering, state management, and data fetching.
• Experience building complex stateful application interfaces such as forms, workflows, dashboards, reporting views, and analytics surfaces.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and handling asynchronous operations, errors, retries, and realistic data volumes.
• Experience building or maintaining component libraries and design systems, including design tokens and tools such as Storybook.
• Experience implementing frontend authentication with an identity provider using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience building role- or permission-sensitive interfaces and familiarity with fine-grained authorization models is preferred.
• Experience with end-to-end testing using Playwright or Cypress and component or unit testing with Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.x Level AA and practical accessible-component implementation.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance, version control, CI/CD, peer review, security and privacy by design, and agile delivery.
• Experience mentoring developers and working within an existing codebase and established engineering standards.
• Must be located in British Columbia, Canada.
• Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with C# and .NET, analytics or large-dataset visualization, workflow-driven UIs, SaaS pilot-to-GA delivery, Canadian public-sector accessibility and privacy requirements, observability, PWA technologies, service workers, consulting, and client-facing delivery.
