Job Description
- Lead the estimating process for ICI GC/CM ground-up new build projects in Toronto.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to evaluate project requirements and timelines.
- Analyze subcontractor bids and assist in the selection process.
- Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and other documents.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators within the team.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies in all estimating activities.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Chief Estimator should have:
- Extensive experience in ICI GC/CM ground-up new build estimating within the building construction industry, 10+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial and client facing ability / mentality
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage and mentor a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely estimates.
