What You Will Do.
We’re building a team to reflect the communities in Saskatoon and Regina; this is an exciting opportunity for the Occupational Therapist to collaborate with leaders in building programs to help clients recover from pain and injuries quickly and safely, so they can return to the life they enjoy.
The successful candidate can be in either Saskatoon or Regina.
Your impact
You will provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries. They also play a pivotal role in supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals through Partners in Canadian Rehab Services. In this role, you will:
- Complete Physical & Cognitive Job Demand Analysis
- Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment
- Concussion management and return to function planning
- Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
- Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
- Functional and cognitive work capacity assessments and Ergonomic assessments with follow-ups
- Cognitive and functional job coaching
- Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
- Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
- Exhibit sound professional judgment
Are you the right fit?
As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:
- 1 year of experience minimum in mental health and a minimum of 3 years as an Occupational Therapist
- Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
- Can independently service complex assessments
- Can act as a preceptor or Supervisor if required
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Other Requirements
- Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
- Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
- Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Bilingualism - French and English are assets.
