PRESCHOOL TEACHER (EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR)

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Early Childhood Educator, working directly with an additional ECE, plans, carries out and evaluates developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children attending the CDC Preschool from September to June annually. The ECE develops daily schedules that include an assortment of activities in accordance with the policy and procedures of the CDC and Childcare Licensing Regulations of BC.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A diploma in Early Childhood Education is required. Special Education is an asset and three to five years’ recent experience with children that need extra support
2. Work experience with children that need extra support is an asset.
3. Remain in good standing with the Community Care Licensing Facility Board.
4. Valid First Aid and CPR certification as per Community Care Facility Act.
5. Must have well-developed oral, written and communication skills; good organizational, time and general management skills; excellent teaching and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to relate well to children and parents; work as part of a team and promote positive staff relations.
7. Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.
