People & Culture Specialist 

We are seeking a People & Culture Specialist who is passionate about creating seamless employee experiences across Canada and the United States. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys the operational side of People & Culture while leveraging technology, process improvement, and AI-driven innovation to make work better for everyone. 

As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will own and optimize our HR technology ecosystem, ensuring our people data, systems, and programs are efficient, scalable, and employee-centric. You will partner closely with the Chief People Officer, HR Business Partner, Finance, IT, and business leaders to support employees throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle. 

Key Responsibilities

HR Technology & People Operations  

• Act as the primary HiBob administrator and subject matter expert.  
• Manage employee records, workflows, permissions, forms, reporting, and system configurations.  
• Perform regular audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.  
• Improve processes and drive adoption of HR technologies.  
• Support ADP payroll processes and collaborate with Finance on payroll activities.  
• Create dashboards, reports, and insights to inform people and business decisions.  

Process Improvement, Automation & AI  

• Evaluate and implement new ways of working using AI and automation tools.  
• Identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks and improve employee self-service.  
• Partner with the People & Culture team to redesign and modernize HR processes.  
• Stay current on emerging HR technology trends and recommend improvements.  
• Help establish best practices for responsible and effective use of AI within People & Culture.  

Benefits & Employee Programs  

• Coordinate benefits administration across the United States and Canada.  
• Support annual benefits renewals and employee enrollment activities.  
• Administer RRSP and 401(k) programs in partnership with vendors and Finance.  
• Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, and HR programs.  
• Support leave administration and employee lifecycle processes.  

Employee Experience & Culture  

• Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities for new hires.  
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.  
• Assist in executing culture-building initiatives that strengthen employee connection and belonging.  
• Manage People & Culture communications through Lighthouse, SharePoint, and other internal channels.  
• Partner with leaders to ensure employees have a positive and consistent experience throughout their career at Lantern.  

Edmonton Office Support  

• Serve as the local People & Culture representative for the Edmonton office.  
• Coordinate office-based employee experience initiatives and events.  
• Partner with local leaders to support team engagement and workplace needs.  
• Provide in-person support for onboarding, meetings, and employee programs as required.  

HR Operations & Compliance  

• Maintain employee documentation and HR records.  
• Support employment changes, promotions, compensation updates, and offboarding activities.  
• Assist with policy administration and compliance activities across Canada and the United States.  
• Prepare HR documents, reports, and communications.  
• Participate in annual People & Culture programs, including performance reviews, engagement surveys, and talent initiatives.  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, HR Technology, or a related field.  

• Experience administering an HRIS platform (HiBob experience considered a significant asset).  

• Exposure to payroll and benefits administration.  

• Experience supporting employee onboarding, employee experience, or HR operations programs.  

• Technology, consulting, or professional services experience is preferred.  

Knowledge & Skills  

• Strong systems orientation and attention to detail.  

• Interest in AI, automation, and process improvement.  

• Comfortable learning new technologies and driving adoption.  

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.  

• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.  

• Collaborative and service-oriented mindset.  

Education  

• Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.  

• CPHR designation (or working toward certification) is considered an asset.

Ontario Salary Range

$82,400—$113,300 CAD
