Store Manager

Seeking all beauty enthusiasts!!! Our Client is hiring a SM for a brand new store opening in Kitchener! HUGE PERK - Scheduling is flexible - 1 closing shift/week + 1 weekend/month!

Position Summary

The Store Manager is a key leader in driving our mission to inspire beauty and build a community. This role exists to lead with care, operate with integrity, and foster a growth mindset within high-performing teams who are driven to deliver exceptional, culturally connected customer experiences. Store Managers are accountable for increasing their store's profitable sales performance, optimizing operational execution, and developing talent, all of which directly fuel growth into new markets. As both a people leader and business driver, this role ensures every store lives out our values while contributing meaningfully to the company's continued expansion and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the store and team to meet goals for sales, customer service, and operations
  • Set the tone for a high-performing, customer-focused culture with strong teamwork and accountability
  • Translate company goals and updates into clear, simple directions that your team understands and can act on
  • Understand and track store KPIs (sales, conversion, productivity) and help your team improve performance
  • Handle serious customer concerns or escalations with professionalism and care
  • Hire, train, and develop all team members
  • Build staff schedules, manage payroll hours, and control labor costs to meet store targets
  • Track store performance and submit sales, staffing, and inventory reports with suggestions to improve results
  • Bring forward ideas and feedback from the store to help improve how the business operates
  • Support and execute visual merchandising and promotional plans
  • Oversee total inventory performance, review reports, ensure process compliance, and suggest operational improvements
  • Lead store meetings, regular 1:1s, and coaching sessions to guide team leaders and hold staff accountable to standards
  • Ensure all safety, operational, and loss prevention policies are followed by everyone on the team
  • Set clear expectations and hold your leadership team accountable for maintaining policy, procedure, and performance goals
  • Build and maintain a positive, professional store culture that values trust, respect, and results
  • Recognize team wins, celebrate milestones, and help team members grow in their roles
  • Identify and investigate operational issues, understand root causes, take corrective action, and share insights to prevent future problems

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive retail management experience in a high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop large teams and team leaders
  • Post‑secondary education is preferable, ideally in Business, Retail Management, or a related field
  • Experience interpreting and improving performance KPIs including sales, conversion, labor, and shrink
  • Strong operational knowledge including merchandising, inventory control, cash handling, and loss prevention
  • Ability to resolve escalated customer and team issues with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Familiarity with retail systems such as POS, scheduling, and inventory management tools
  • Experience in community-based retail or with textured haircare/Black beauty products is an asset
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and people management skills are essential

Work Environment & Conditions

  • On‑site retail store environment
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Long periods of standing; moderate lifting up to 30 kg
