Remote Construction Manager for SmartStop

Strategic Storage PM Canada, ULC

Join SmartStop Self Storage as a Construction Manager, overseeing projects across Canada. This remote role combines travel to sites with essential contract and project lifecycle management. As a Construction Manager reporting to the EVP of Canada, you will manage construction initiatives within SmartStop's Canadian portfolio. Your expertise in project lifecycle management, contract negotiation, and budget monitoring will be critical. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in construction management and the ability to adapt to various project needs. Key Responsibilities:

Negotiate and issue prime contracts and subcontracts
Monitor project costs through ongoing assessments
Develop recovery strategies for budget or schedule issues
Collaborate with the accounting department for invoicing
Coordinate project aspects from scheduling to vendor relationships

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum five years of direct construction management experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Thorough understanding of construction methods and building codes
Valid driver’s license and passport for travel
