Business Need / Purpose of Role - Besoin opérationnel / Objectif du poste:  

The  Operations Representative (Boarding Agent)  reporting to the Operations Manager is responsible for providing logistics service to our Principals to ensure the safe and smooth turnaround of all appointed vessels within the jurisdiction of the port office, managing vessel requirements, procurement of relevant vendor services, and undertaking vessel boarding as required. The Operations Representative performs office and non-manual work assisting Inchcape in the running and servicing Inchcape’s 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week on-call services commitments to its Principals.

Le Représentant(e) Des Opérations (Agent D'embarquement) , sous la responsabilité du/de la responsable des opérations, est chargé(e) d'assurer les services logistiques à nos clients afin d'assurer la rotation sécuritaire et fluide de tous les navires désignés dans la zone de compétence du bureau portuaire. Ses missions comprennent la gestion des besoins des navires, l'approvisionnement auprès des fournisseurs de services pertinents et l'embarquement des navires selon les besoins. Le/la Représentant(e) Des Opérations effectue également des tâches administratives et non manuelles, contribuant ainsi au bon fonctionnement du service d'astreinte 24h/24 et 7j/7 d'Inchcape pour ses clients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Connaissances, Compétences et Aptitudes:

• Foundational knowledge of Port Operations and Port Agency services.


• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative, exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.


• Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven.


• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills.


• Excellent communication skills in English language, both written and oral.
  


• Must possess an intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses

Education/Experience - Formation/Expérience: 

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.


• Associate degree in Maritime Transportation or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution preferred


• Prior experience in marine agency field desired, but not required.

• Diplôme d'études secondaires ou l'équivalent requis. 


• Diplôme d'études collégiales en transport maritime ou dans un domaine connexe, obtenu dans un établissement d'enseignement public ou privé accrédité, souhaitable.


• Expérience préalable dans le secteur des agences maritimes souhaitable, mais non requise.

Licenses - Permis :

• Agents are expected to travel around specific port/terminal locations and surrounding areas and must possess their own reliable transportation, a valid "non-expired" state drivers' license, and vehicle insurance coverage.
