Director of Maintenance

Located just one hour from Montreal, the DoubleTree by Hilton Brome-Missisquoi Resort will offer an authentic Eastern Townships experience surrounded by vineyards, lakes, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes. Scheduled to open in March 2027 , our resort will invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and discover the best of the region, including Lake Brome, Bromont Ski Area, and the surrounding trails.

Reporting to the General Manager , we are seeking an organized, proactive, service-focused Director of Maintenance to join our team in November 2026 to help prepare for the resort opening and become the long-term leader of our Maintenance Department. 

This is a unique opportunity to help create and shape a new hospitality destination. During the pre-opening phase, the Director of Maintenance will play an important role in establishing maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and operational standards. Following the resort opening, this position will continue as a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, efficiency, and ongoing performance of all resort facilities and infrastructure. 

The Director of Maintenance will oversee the preservation and continuous improvement of the property’s physical assets, including guest rooms, public spaces, restaurants, wellness facilities, meeting spaces, and all building systems. 

Responsibilities

• Support the pre-opening preparation of the Maintenance Department ahead of the March 2027 resort opening. 

• Establish maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, and departmental standards. 

• Regularly inspect the hotel to ensure facilities meet safety, quality, and operational standards. 

• Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, wellness facilities, meeting spaces, and resort infrastructure. 

• Coordinate repair projects and improvements while minimizing disruption to guests. 

• Plan, manage, and oversee renovations, upgrades, and construction projects. 

• Respond quickly to emergency situations such as power outages, mechanical failures, or operational disruptions. 

• Supervise, train, and support the maintenance technician team. 

• Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and external service providers. 

• Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency, and optimize resources. 

• Maintain budgets, expense tracking, maintenance records, and required documentation. 

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hotel operational standards.

• Proven experience as a Hotel Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Director, or Maintenance Supervisor, preferably within a hotel, resort, commercial property, or hospitality environment. 

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices. 

• Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, wastewater systems, and HVAC systems. 

• Experience with hotel operations or public-facing facilities is an asset. 

• Experience with budgeting, expense management, and administrative processes. 

• Ability to identify risks, prioritize needs, and resolve issues efficiently. 

• Excellent organizational, leadership, and team management skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment. 

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

• Technical training in maintenance, building systems, electromechanics, facility management, or related field is an asset. 

• Professional maintenance or facility management certification is an asset. 

• Experience participating in hotel openings, major renovations, or operational transitions is considered a strong asset. 

• Bilingualism in French and English is highly desirable.
