Director of Operations

Located just one hour from Montreal, the DoubleTree by Hilton Brome-Missisquoi Resort will offer an authentic Eastern Townships experience surrounded by vineyards, lakes, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes. Scheduled to open in March 2027, our resort will invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and discover the best of the region, including Lake Brome, Bromont Ski Area, and the surrounding trails. 

Featuring a year-round wellness center, Café du Sud and Sudtirol, versatile meeting and event spaces, and the warm hospitality that defines DoubleTree by Hilton, the resort is designed to become one of the region’s premier hospitality destinations. 

Reporting to the General Manager, we are seeking an inspiring, strategic, and results-driven Director of Operations to join our team in September 2026 to help prepare for the resort opening and become the long-term operational leader of the property. 

This is a rare opportunity to help build a new Hilton resort from the ground up. During the pre-opening phase, you will help establish operational standards, recruit and develop the leadership team, implement departmental procedures, and create the culture that will define the guest experience for years to come. 

As a key member of the Executive Committee, you will oversee the daily operation of the resort while driving guest satisfaction, operational excellence, employee engagement, and financial performance. 

Responsibilities 

• Support all operational pre-opening activities leading to the January 2027 resort opening. 

• Partner with the General Manager to establish operational strategies and performance objectives. 

• Oversee all operating departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and other guest service operations. 

• Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop department leaders. 

• Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent service excellence and Hilton brand standards. 

• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices. 

• Monitor operational performance, guest satisfaction scores, financial results, and departmental KPIs. 

• Work closely with the Sales team to ensure the successful execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events. 

• Manage operating budgets, labor productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Ensure compliance with Hilton standards, health and safety regulations, and all applicable legislation. 

• Foster a collaborative culture focused on leadership, accountability, innovation, and employee engagement. 

• Serve as Acting General Manager in the absence of the General Manager.

Expected Start Date: September 2026 
Hotel Opening: March 2027 

• Proven experience as a Director of Operations, Hotel Manager, Director of Rooms, or similar senior leadership position in a full-service hotel or resort. 

• Strong knowledge of all hotel operating departments. 

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple department heads. 

• Excellent financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning skills. 

• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. 

• Ability to lead change and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. 

• Experience with Hilton brand standards or another internationally recognized hotel brand is preferred. 

• Previous hotel pre-opening experience is considered a significant asset. 

• Bilingualism in French and English is essential. 

• Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
