Wildfire Response and Training Coordinator
Grand Council Treaty #3
Become a catalyst for wildfire resilience in Treaty #3 regions as a Wildfire Network Coordinator. This role champions community engagements and supports training initiatives. In your position as Wildfire Network Coordinator, you will report to the Emergency Coordination Manager, aiming to strengthen community responses to wildfire threats. Your duties will include assessing community wildfire capabilities, coordinating training sessions, and researching vital funding sources. Your collaboration with partners like MNR and local governance will ensure culturally inclusive preparedness efforts. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess community equipment and wildfire plans
- Conduct outreach for wildfire preparedness
- Research and secure funding for initiatives
- Coordinate wildfire training and engagement events
- Prepare reports on community project outcomes
- Experience in emergency management or community work is helpful
- Understanding of Treaty #3 communities is advantageous
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required
