Senior Accountant

Are you someone who combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts? Then this role is for you! As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the operation and business activities of PTI Transformers Group of Companies by supporting the execution and analysis of daily financial reporting, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and preparing periodic reporting of results and forecasts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Perform day-to-day accounting transactions for all PTI Companies.
2. Complete month-end/year-end duties by reviewing and completing account reconciliations, performing reasonability tests and trend analysis, analyzing sales and project cost variances, and assisting with year-end inventory count with internal team members.
3. Assist in preparing monthly/year-end financial statement packages.
4. Maintain and update finance work instructions and process documentation.
5. Work with and support the external auditors as part of the year-end financial audit.
6. Performing other duties as allocated.

WHAT IT TAKES

1. Undergraduate program or equivalent in Business, Finance or Accounting.
2. 3+ years experience in a full-cycle accounting environment.
3. Interest in pursuing a CPA designation is an asset.
4. Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
6. Experience in completing month-end and year-end duties.
7. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Ability to communicate and problem solve for a variety of accounting functions.
9. Ability to work at sustained pace and produce quality work.
10. Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
