Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Responsibilities
Execute general practice management and civil litigation file handling in a completely paperless workflow.

Draft standard pleadings, court documentation, and legal correspondence to clients, experts, and opposing counsel.

Arrange for the service and filing of court documents in accordance with legal timelines and procedural rules.

Manage full file lifecycles from initial intake to closing, including organizing evidentiary materials and trial preparation binder assembly.

Assist lawyers with attendance preparations for questioning, mediations, Judicial Dispute Resolutions, and court appearances.

Conduct comprehensive conflict searches, establish new electronic files, and maintain strict limitation tracking lists.

Monitor deadlines, track tasks, and log file updates within TeamConnect and ACL software.

Coordinate litigation schedules, including booking client meetings, expert assessments, questionings, and mediation dates.

Perform office administration support such as managing vendor payments, processing invoices, and ordering legal supplies.

Qualifications
Maintain a minimum of 2 years of experience supporting civil litigation matters in Ontario, preferably within personal injury or insurance defence practices.

Demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, Ontario Court rules, and practice directions.

Show proven proficiency with legal practice management and document assembly tools, specifically TeamConnect and ACL.

Possess advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Prioritize complex workloads effectively while managing strict limitation periods and executing high-quality work under pressure.

Uphold exceptional ethical standards, discretion, and the ability to safeguard confidential or privileged client information.

Communicate effectively in writing while delivering meticulous proofreading and document formatting capabilities.

Hold formal post-secondary education from a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal diploma program.
