Job Requirements

Qualifications

· Possession of a three (3) year diploma from an accredited college in Business Administration/Accounting.
· 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
· Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care (CWELCC) knowledge and reporting responsibilities an asset
· Current Criminal Vulnerable Sector Reference Check.
· Updated Immunization Record.

Knowledge and Skills

· Demonstrate ability to accurately calculate, post, correct accounting and financial records.
· Working experience in QuickBooks accounting software.
· Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to new technology
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
· Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and move from one priority to another while maintaining a high level of accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and as a team member.
· Possess drive, motivation, and acute attention to detail.

Job Description

Position Summary

Reporting to the owner, the Bookkeeper is responsible for processing billing, supporting financial reporting to funding bodies, and completing general office duties. This administrative role includes managing, organizing, evaluating, planning, and directing the financial services that support our programs and business. The Bookkeeper ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while acting in alignment with our Values, Vision, Mission, and all relevant policies and procedures.

Some Key Responsibilities

· Maintain and reconcile financial records and accounts.
· Process accounts payable and prepare cheques.
· Record payments and prepare bank deposits.
· Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
· Enter parent payments accurately into QuickBooks.
· Prepare WSIB and Employer Health Tax (EHT) remittances.
· Assist with financial and government reporting.
· Support preparation of the annual operating budget.
· Provide general administrative and office support as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
