Role Overview
• Job Title: Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Lead
• Organization: Export Development Canada (EDC) / FinDev Canada
• Stream: Stream 1 – Application Services
• Term: 6-Month Contract (Expected Start: September 2026 – February 2027)
• Work Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, or Calgary (average 2 office days/week)
• Security Clearance: Reliability Status (required prior to contract start)
• Language Requirement: English mandatory; French is a strong asset

Job Summary
Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Lead to design, develop, configure, and support enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions while providing technical leadership across multiple products and business initiatives. This mandate combines hands-on platform engineering with technical oversight, focusing primarily on Integrated Risk Management (IRM/GRC), supported by Business Continuity Management (BCM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Legal Service Delivery (LSD), custom applications, and Automated Test Framework (ATF) quality practices.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Platform Governance
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ServiceNow development teams while reviewing solution designs, technical approaches, and development practices.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce technical and development standards, and support architecture alignment and platform governance.
• Participate in release planning activities and mentor developers across the ServiceNow platform.

ServiceNow Development & Configuration
• Design, develop, and maintain business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Flow Designer automations, Script Includes, integrations, and custom applications.
• Enhance and support Integrated Risk Management (IRM) as the primary domain, alongside BCM, HRSD, Legal Service Delivery, and custom business applications.
• Utilize JavaScript, Glide APIs, UI Builder, and platform features to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and upgrade-safe.

Automated Testing & Quality Assurance
• Design, implement, and maintain Automated Test Framework (ATF) test suites.
• Champion automated testing practices across development teams and integrate ATF directly into release and deployment processes.
• Support quality assurance and defect management activities.

Integration & Advanced Technical Support
• Develop and support platform integrations using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and collaborate with security, architecture, integration, and platform teams on complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with platform architects, product owners, business analysts, developers, and delivery teams to promote maintainable engineering practices.

Qualification & Skill Requirements
Mandatory Requirement
• Hands-on Experience: Minimum 7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including at least 2+ years implementing or supporting ServiceNow IRM.

Core Technical & Leadership Competencies
• Technical Oversight: Demonstrated experience acting as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or providing technical oversight on enterprise ServiceNow implementations.
• ATF Ownership: Direct experience developing, maintaining, and integrating Automated Test Framework (ATF) test suites into release processes.
• Module Exposure: Proven experience supporting one or more secondary modules: Business Continuity Management (BCM), HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Legal Service Delivery (LSD), or custom ServiceNow applications.
• Development Toolkit: Advanced proficiency with JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder, and REST APIs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with platform architects, product owners, security teams, and developers.

Preferred Certifications & Assets
• ServiceNow Certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in IRM or HRSD.
• Micro-Certifications: Platform micro-certifications in ATF, Platform Development, Flow Designer, or IntegrationHub.
• Bilingualism: Proficiency in both English and French.
