Essential Responsibilities & Duties
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead from the front:
- Direct and execute site investigations and field programs for soil and bedrock
- Deliver innovative engineering solutions in:
- Foundation design (deep and shallow)
- Earthworks & slope stability (rock mechanics and soil mechanics)
- Shoring systems & ground improvement
- Experience with mining, energy, and/or infrastructure clients
- Experience using geotechnical software packages (e.g. RocScience, GeoStudio, Plaxis, Leapfrog)
- Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
- Lead proposals, manage budgets, and monitor project performance
- Collaborate across disciplines and regions within GEI
- Mentor the next generation of engineers
Minimum Qualifications
You are a technically strong and relationship-driven professional who thrives on ownership and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D is an asset)
- P.Eng. with APEGNB (or eligible)
- 8–15+ years of consulting experience in geotechnical or geological engineering
- Proven expertise in investigation, design, and analysis
- Strong communicator - clear, confident, and client-focused
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff
- Skilled at balancing technical excellence, client relationships and project delivery
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is preferred.
- Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.

Responsabilités essentielles
En tant qu’ingénieur(e) principal(e) en géotechnique, vous serez à l’avant-garde :
- Diriger et réaliser des études de site et des programmes de terrain pour les sols et le substrat rocheux
- Fournir des solutions d’ingénierie innovantes dans les domaines suivants :
- Conception de fondations (profondes et superficielles)
- Travaux de terrassement et stabilité des pentes (mécanique des roches et des sols)
- Systèmes de soutènement et amélioration des sols
- Expérience auprès de clients des secteurs minier, énergétique et/ou des infrastructures
- Expérience avec des logiciels géotechniques (ex. RocScience, GeoStudio, Plaxis, Leapfrog)
- Établir des relations de confiance avec les clients, les organismes de réglementation et les parties prenantes
- Diriger les propositions, gérer les budgets et suivre la performance des projets
- Collaborer entre disciplines et régions au sein de GEI
- Encadrer la prochaine génération d’ingénieurs
Qualifications Minimales
Vous êtes un(e) professionnel(le) solide sur le plan technique et axé(e) sur les relations, qui s’épanouit dans les rôles à responsabilités et de leadership :
- Baccalauréat en génie géotechnique ou géologique (maîtrise ou doctorat constitue un atout)
- Titre d’ingénieur (P.Eng.) auprès de l’APEGNB (ou admissible)
- 8 à 15 ans (ou plus) d’expérience en consultation en génie géotechnique ou géologique
- Expertise démontrée en investigation, conception et analyse
- Excellentes compétences en communication - clair(e), assuré(e) et orienté(e) client
- Expérience en gestion d’équipe et en mentorat de personnel junior
- Capacité à concilier excellence technique, relations clients et livraison de projets
- Maîtrise de l’anglais requise ; la connaissance du français est un atout
- Les exigences physiques et environnementales pour ce poste sont disponibles sur demande.

- Une expérience préalable en consultation est un atout
