Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group , based out of our Fredericton office. The role of Intermediate Water Resources Engineer comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to:
Work on mine site wide water balance and water quality models (with the opportunity to use GoldSim)
Design hydrotechnical components of tailings storage facilities for global mining projects
Contribute to risk assessments, Dam Safety Reviews (DSRs) and risk-informed decision making
Engage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions
Work with the latest versions of software, including GoldSim, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS, Flow-2D/3D
Be a part of diverse teams of multi-discipline engineers and designers from conceptual design through to construction.
Travel to various project sites within Canada and internationally.
We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. A degree in civil engineering, with a track record of continued development
At least five years’ civil design experience related to surface water controls for mining projects
You must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada
Experience in channel design, flood mapping, water conveyance and drainage
An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams
An ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them
Demonstrate that you are flexible and seek solutions rather than focus on problems
