Team Lead, Business Membership (Member Advice Centre)

We are currently seeking a Team Lead, Business Membership to join our team. This is a hybrid position with the opportunity to work from one of our offices in Duncan, Kelowna, Langley, Penticton, or Victoria, BC.

The Team Lead, Business Membership is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Business Membership Advisors within the Member Advice Centre’s dynamic omni-channel environment. This role oversees the end-to-end business membership onboarding process, ensuring memberships are established accurately and in compliance with all applicable regulatory, audit, risk, and organizational requirements. The Team Lead fosters a high-performance culture by providing ongoing coaching and professional development that supports excellence in advisory services, sales, and relationship management, while delivering a consistent and exceptional member experience. The role also partners with Business Membership Advisors during member interactions, providing guidance, support, and real-time coaching to strengthen member outcomes and team capability. As a key cross-functional leader, the Team Lead collaborates with senior leadership, branch teams, operations, and other business lines to strengthen partnerships, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic initiatives that enhance the business member experience and contribute to the organization's growth objectives.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day

• Leadership: Provides leadership and direction to Business Membership Advisors, conducting orientation and training as required. Prioritizes and balances workloads and conducts regular coaching sessions. Builds and promotes a team environment, reinforces positive behavior, corrects performance, and initiates disciplinary action, as required. Works to resolve complex or escalated member issues.

• Member Service: Oversees the opening of all new and unassigned business membership requests at TCB. Helps create a consistent member experience for all business members, which includes working closely with the branches and the Member Advice Centre.

• Sales and Service Strategy: Ensures the team achieves or exceeds sales goals by providing sales coaching to team members. Has a high level of knowledge in Business Banking from a technical standpoint.

• Compliance and Audit: Provides strong leadership to ensure that every membership is opened by the team is in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines.

• Business Expertise: Ensures the team is building strong relationships with each branch. Attends quarterly all-division leadership calls to provide updates on the Business Membership Advisors and compliance matters related to business banking accounts. Works with stakeholders to improve business membership procedures and guidelines to ultimately improve the business member experience

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Diploma in Business or related discipline required
• 3-4 years experience in retail, business, or commercial lending and sales experience required
• Strong understanding of business structures and proven record of providing business banking advice
• Strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong organization and time management skills with the flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment
• Proven skills in business development, sales, and relationship building
• Ability to quickly establish and sustain credibility with prospective business members, as well as Senior Leadership at TCB
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
