We're looking for an experienced Controller to join our Calgary leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with operations, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the success of a growing transportation organization.

As the Controller , you will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and operational success of the business. You'll oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting while providing leadership, insight, and strategic recommendations that support sound business decisions and long-term growth.

Working closely with leaders across the organization, you'll help drive financial performance through accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. What You'll Do:

• Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance functions for the business
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Monitor cash flow and working capital
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Coordinate external audits and tax reporting
• Develop and improve financial reporting and business processes
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
• Lead, coach, and mentor members of the accounting team
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:

• CPA designation is required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required
• Previous experience leading or managing an accounting or finance team is required
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls is required
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems is required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in the transportation, trucking, or logistics industry is considered a strong asset
