We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Officer II to join a collaborative, 35-member operations team at a leading Canadian financial institution. In this 100% back-office role, you will provide critical operational support by independently managing, reviewing, and processing a daily portfolio of financial transfers and transactions. Acting as a subject matter expert on banking policies and procedures, you will ensure high-volume tasks are completed accurately within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while communicating seamlessly with internal business partners.

Responsibilities
Transaction Processing: Independently manage and process an assigned queue of financial transfers and transactions accurately and within established timelines.
Documentation Review: Review, verify, and audit all transfer documentation to identify discrepancies, missing information, or operational risks.
Internal Partner Collaboration: Communicate clearly and professionally with internal partners to resolve discrepancies, provide detailed explanations, and ensure timely issue resolution.
Compliance & Risk Management: Adhere strictly to institutional operating policies, audit guidelines, and Bank Codes of Conduct to maintain operational effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in daily 30-minute team touchpoints, suggest process enhancements, and adapt seamlessly to new technologies or policy updates.

Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
Education: University graduate with a degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 2 to 4 years of banking or financial institution experience, specifically working within back-office transaction or transfer processing.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Policy Knowledge: In-depth, practical knowledge of standard banking policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines.

Soft Skills:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for internal partner management.
Meticulous attention to detail and sharp analytical/quantitative skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills to handle high volumes of work independently.
Adaptable, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Knowledge:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (specifically the ability to run Macros).
A foundational understanding of RRSPs and Mutual Funds.
Knowledge of cash/trade products (e.g., Loans, Deposits, Swaps, FX Forwards) or Global/WSS platforms is an asset.
